Steamboat Springs ' original historic town and the main ski area are about 10 minutes drive from each other. The town has some really lovely fine dining restaurants along its one main street. The Strawberry hot springs are just outside Steamboat are not to be missed natural mineral springs, perfect for soaking those tired muscles, after some strenuous skiing.
The resort has its main base area by the gondola and just a little way along is Ski Times Square where a lot of the recent development has taken place. Steamboat also encourages families with free children's lift passes with an adult pass.
