With ravager stun, just before cheap shot ends, hunter can avoid having to use trinket for the 5 sec kidney shot, then can still use deterrence for example, lay a trap disengage and kite, or something like that. Why no armor talents for the worm? Is it because you assume in a BG that you will have teammates beating on the target so the worm shouldnt be taking damage for a long time anyway?

Health and resilience are much more important for PvP. Instead, I prefer to place points in talents that will help DPS. Even if melee were to focus on your pet, it would take a while to get him down. The things that kill pets are DoTs and AoE effects. Oh man does that make all kinds of sense. Thanks for the help.
However, sometimes you gotta drop them first in order to survive, which is where the added DPS will help. Im only a lvl 40 and am a BM hunter for lvling…der!! A croc or a bear are best for leveling.
Reason being, they both have multi-target aggro generating abilities, plus all of the great tanking attributes from the Tenacity tree. A boar would be alright with Thunderstomp, but crocs and bears are… well… better. This guide actually began as an all-around guide to hunter pets, but then it started growing too big so I decided to break it apart and focus solely on PvP.
But yea… crocs are awesome. Probably the top leveling pet due to the Bad Attitude ability. Great guide…will drop a link back right to it! Leveling pets is pretty quick if you just take them into a few heroics. You can get a pet to 80 usually after about 3 runs. Want it short?

Worm Worms are fantastic pets for use in battlegrounds, as well as with certain arena comps. Serpent Serpents… the new Scorpid. Crab Before the Cunning family tree was improved, and before Spiders were given a 30 yard range on their Web ability, Crabs were thee choice for PvP pet.
The example build shown to the right is an effective PvP spec for a Tenacity pet. Survival PvP Pets For the same reasons that make them top choices for Marksmanship hunters, Spider, Crab and Ravager are my recommended choices for Survival hunters as well.
Spider Spider gets my vote as a top pet for SV hunters, mainly due to its Web ability. Were I suggesting an arena pet for SV hunters, spider would be it. Crab Crab would be a close second choice. Ravager Ravagers get my nod once again, mainly for their awesome Ravage ability.
Cunning Bird of Prey — Birds of Prey have a disarm ability that lasts for 6 seconds. Tenacity Gorilla — Gorillas have an ability called Pummel, which silences its target for 2 seconds and has a fairly short 30 second cooldown. Comments What about Devilsaur? Well done guide. Use Current to counter Supers. Use Wind for better ability uptime and dodges. Shinobu's Vow is the centerpiece of this build, giving you a second Skip Grenade charge while enhancing its functionality. These grenades are just as strong as Withering Blades, tracking enemies around cover if you throw them at the right angle.
If you pair these gloves with the right mods, every grenade will regenerate your class ability, melee, and grant Super energy on a final blow.
For weapons, Traveler's Chosen is an excellent option if you don't mind Sidearms. If you hate Sidearms, weapons with Demolitionist or Wellspring are great for this build. You'll want to obtain as high Recovery and Discipline as possible.
If you pull that off, shift your focus towards Intellect and Mobility. Your goal is to have your grenades ready as often as possible. Bolstering Detonation is the start of the show here, granting almost your entire Dodge cooldown after landing a grenade.
This gives you a melee charge and a large chunk of grenade energy. Ashes to Assets will ensure that any kills Shinobu's Vow lands will give a massive chunk of Super energy. Charged with Light mods are useful in PvP but not required. Use a generic damage-boosting setup if you have points to spare.
Golden Gun is always a solid pick in PvE content. Bottom Tree Gunslinger has a solid melee ability, a high-damage Super, and a neutral game that allows you to recharge Golden Gun quickly. This build enhances this subclass to have frequent Supers and strong counters to endgame content. You'll be able to counter every type of Champion, deal immense damage to bosses, and use any weapons you like.
Practice Makes Perfect is excellent for gaining your Super quickly, and Knock 'Em Down makes all of your weapons incredibly stable. Use Gambler's Dodge to get your melee back. Athrys's Embrace is a surprisingly good option for this build. Your Precision Throwing Knives will deal immense damage when charged, and you'll be able to stun Unstoppable Champions.
You can pair this Thermoclastic Strike from the Artifact to stun Overloads while your knife isn't supercharged. Use any weapon you like. With Athrys's Embrace, your melee can counter two Champion types. Bad Juju is also a good pick for non-pinnacle content if you want to spam your Super. Despite the build's purpose, you only want about 40 Intellect; you'll see diminishing returns if you invest any more points. Spec heavily into Mobility and Discipline.
Strength is a nice third stat to spec for if you have good armor. Your melee is going to deal immense damage, so you'll want to use Hands-On from the Artifact to gain a large chunk of Super energy from each melee kill. Withering Heat is also fantastic for this build, debuffing Champions whenever you use an ability on them. Melee Kickstart will help with melee charge uptime. You'll only need to wait a few seconds before you can throw another melee.
You'll have short Supers and constant melee charges. Disregarding community sentiment surrounding Grenade Launchers in PvP, this archetype of weapon is incredibly powerful. You'll be able to kill enemies solely with your Grenade Launcher or weaken them enough to a single Primary gunshot. If you love fast-paced gameplay and hate the peak-shooting meta, this is the build for you. Word of warning: the community absolutely hates GLs in PvP. Expect to get hatemail if you use this build in Trials of Osiris or Competitive Crucible.
For subclass, you can either use Way of the Wind or Revenant. This build will focus on Way of the Wind since it has excellent neutral-game passives. If you want to use Revenant, use Shatterdive and Glacier Grenades. You'll be using at least one Grenade Launcher with this build. All three GLs have some excellent perk combinations. For even more speed, this build uses The Dragon's Shadow.
Whenever you dodge, you automatically reload all of your weapons and grant the Wraithmetal Mail buff for ten seconds. While active, you have:. The auto-reloading Dodge and handling bonus makes this playstyle incredibly smooth. Fire a Grenade Launcher shot, immediately swap to your Kinetic, then fire a cleanup shot to kill the enemy. Dodge to automatically reload both weapons and gain an immense handling boost for ten seconds.
You'll need a Mobility stat of at least 50 to reach Mobility while Wraithmetal Mail is active. From there, spec for Recovery and Intellect.
As powerful as that sounds, be mindful that you won't have a Dodge available to get out of tough situations. This build also uses two Grenade Kickstart mods to help this build's neutral game. Since your GL can easily clean up targets from around cover, you might want to consider Blast Radius instead of Taking Charge. Become a master of Stasis with this infinite Super build. You can slow targets on command, cast your Super every minute, and have a constant influx of melee energy and healing.
With a few mod tweaks, you can even take this build to pinnacle PvE content like raids or dungeons. This build practically has it all. Revenant will be your subclass. Your grenade is mostly up to preference. However, we recommend Duskfield Grenades due to their massive radius and ability to slow enemies. Use whichever Dodge you like. Don't focus on gaining Feast of Light once your Super is charged. For this build, the boots are best used as a means of gaining your Super quickly.
You can also use Assassin's Cowl to have a means of going invisible and healing during tense situations. Use a Masterworked gun. Beyond that, use whatever you like the most.
If you want to go all-in on Super spam, use Bad Juju. This build uses Grim Harvest and Touch of Winter to create devastating grenades that spawn Stasis Shards, pairing nicely with our choice of Fragments. This build has access to four Fragment slots. These Fragments will give you constant overshields, Super energy, and shorter grenade cooldowns when you take damage. If you aren't having issues with Duskfield Grenade cooldowns, consider replacing Torment with Whisper of Conduction.
Intellect is an important stat for this build, although you shouldn't get it past 70 due to diminishing returns. From there, improve your Discipline , then whichever stats matter the most to you.
Since your grenade is your largest limiter for spamming your Super, this build focuses on lowering it as much as possible through mods like Bomber and Impact Induction. Thermoclastic Blooming allows each Withering Blade kill to spawn an Orb of Power, synergizing nicely with this build.
If you don't like Stacks on Stacks, feel free to use another charge-generating mod. Stalk your opposition from the shadows, luring them to your Snare Bomb trap. When they least expect it, spring from the shadows to deliver a final blow. You're an assassin that strikes at the opportune moment, utilizing your abilities to manipulate enemy behavior.
